Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, prevents tracking, restores picture-in-picture, and keeps videos playing in the background.

Note: The “can read and alter webpages” text in the permission section is just unfortunate wording. Vinegar needs access to the web page to find the YouTube player and replace it. It’s not doing anything creepy!

• Auto start playing feature2024年3月30日
  Great application. Works great on the iPhone, iPad and Macbook. One small inconvenience is that you need to push the start button when the page is loaded for the video to start playing. An option that automatically starts the video would be perfect. There is also a little delay before the video starts to play, but there is no ads or tracking. Which is perfect.

  動画の解像度をautoではなく360pなどの固定にすると、動画を再生した数秒後にautoから固定に切り替わってしまうようで二重に読み込みが発生(最初はautoで読み込んで数秒後に固定した解像度で再読み込みするようです)してしまって地味にストレスなので改善をお願いします。 iphone13使用です。

  youtubeがアドブロッカー対策を強めてる今も、htmlプレイヤーに置き換えるという特性からか、問題なく使えてます。定期的にアプデもしてくれてありがたいです。 youtubeにしかアクセス権限がないので安心でk流と思います。

  youtube広告に変化があったせいなのか、 時々画質選択ボタンがErrorの表示となって、動画が再生できないことがある。 そうなると、safari再起動やタブを変えてもその動画だけ見れない。 環境 vineger2.7.0 iOS 17.1.1 iPhone13ProMax

  いつからかiOSでもMacでも、動画ページを開いた時常にミュートされるようになってしまった。端末の再起動や再インストールをしても治らず。再生時にミュートであれば解除する設定が欲しい。
